PIAA State Softball Tournament: C.B. South Blanks Governor Mifflin 5-0 Enroute to Shippensburg Final!

We once again caught up with the Lady Titans this past Monday evening for a few innings of their PIAA state tournament semi-final game against Governor Mifflin played at Patriots Park in Allentown, PA. By sunset, the Lady Titans knew they’d be “Shippensburg-bound” this Friday to play in the 2010 PIAA State Softball Championship Final against Mount Lebanon who earlier in the day edged Hatboro-Horsham 2-1 — depriving the Lady Hatters of what would surely have been an exciting re-match between two District One teams who just over a week earlier battled for the District One crown. But fate had a different game in mind — one that would pit an Eastern PA team against a Western PA team. So it will be C.B. South vs. Mount Lebanon.

We’ve added 40 game action images and candid sports portraits capturing some great moments from Monday’s semifinal to the C.B. South Softball 2010 Season photo album located in our online proofing galleries. Meanwhile, visitors can also enjoy 15 of our featured images right here in the Lightbox Gallery below:

We send along our heartfelt wishes to the Lady Titans as they make the long trip out to Shippensburg on Friday for the final leg of this season’s quest to bring home the 2010 state softball crown. Win or lose though, you are all winners in our eyes… and we hope the special images we’ve captured this season will always help you to remember the very special season that it turned out to be.

A prior scheduling commitment will prevent us from joining the Lady Titans in Shippensburg this Friday… but do know that we’re wishing the Titan community all the very best. Enjoy the ride, ladies — both the roadtrip to/from Shippensburg as well as the emotional ride taking you to the realm of championship competition at a new level. Savor the moment… and best wishes, Ladies!

PIAA District One Softball Final: Nothing Soft About It as Lady Titans Capture District Crown!

The game is called softball. But quite frankly, there’s nothing soft about it when two top-notch teams battle out a contest in searing heat as C.B. South and Hatboro-Horsham did last Thursday afternoon. Through much of the game, the score remained 0-0, which was a testament to some great defensive plays along with steady pitching from each team’s ace hurlers: Fran Carrullo (CB South, junior) and Maggie Schaffer (Hatboro-Horsham, sophomore). And when the Lady Hatters were up 2-0 in the 6th inning, the Lady Titans quickly came back to make it a new game at 2-2 — eventually sending the contest into an International Tie-Breaker in the 10th inning, where each team started their part of the inning with a runner in scoring position at 2nd base. After a dramatic put-out at home plate to end the Lady Hatters 10th inning at-bat, the Lady Titans scored on an equally dramatic home plate play in the bottom of the 10th, securing the District One crown with a final score of 3-2.

We haven’t produced one of our signature WebShows in awhile, and we thought the District One Softball Final would lend itself to some great images set to high-energy music. So hear ya go, softball fans!!! Just turn up the volume; click on the “play” icon in the video-window below; and re-live some great action sequences — mixed in with game action sports portraiture and LOTS of emotion — from last Thursday’s contest. Enjoy… and be inspired!!!

For viewers preferring to view images from the game one by one at their own pace, please visit the C.B. South Varsity Softball 2010 Season photo gallery for images from this and a few other 2010 Lady Titans softball games as well.

Both teams will now head to the PIAA State Softball Tournament which gets underway this week. Best of luck Ladies!!!

[UPDATE: Both C.B. South and Hatboro-Horsham won their games in the State Tournament's first round on Monday, June 7th. So both teams advance to the quarterfinals on June 10th, where C.B. South will meet District 2's top-seed Hazleton at Patriots Park in Allentown, and Hatboro-Horsham will take on District 1's #4-seed Bishop Shanahan (again) at Upper Merion HS in King of Prussia.]

CBS Softball: Lady Titans Shutout Maidens 7-0 and Advance to District 1 Semifinals Round

As promised, we rejoined the Lady Titans Friday afternoon in a District 1 quarterfinal match-up with SOL Continental Conference foe, the North Penn Maidens. And we once again captured some great ladies softball game-action images and sports portraits featuring members from both teams. In our Lightbox Gallery below containing 28 highlight images, we’ve included several close-up, home-plate images captured from just beyond the center field fence (including the Lightbox Gallery “cover image”). It’s a camera angle rarely seen in high school softball photo coverage — so we thought we’d treat our viewers to some images captured from a different-than-usual vantage point. Enjoy!!!

Even larger versions of these and other proof images have been added to the C.B. South Varsity Softball 2010 Season online proofing gallery. So be sure to check the gallery to re-live some special moments from the game — customized to the viewing dimension of your display!

The Lady Titans now advance to the District 1 semifinals round on Tuesday, June 1st where they’ll face Coatsville. In addition, their 7-0 win over the Maidens assured the Lady Titans a berth in the upcoming PIAA State Tournament. Best of luck, Ladies!!!

CBS Baseball: Titans Blank Spring-Ford Rams 1-0 in Opening Round of District One Playoffs

In just under 90 minutes, Central Bucks South and Spring-Ford completed an opening round contest of District One post-season baseball Monday afternoon. For both teams, the game was low on pitches and hits — attributing to the game’s relatively short duration. And the Titans lone run in the third inning was all they needed to advance to Round 2 this Wednesday at West Chester Henderson High School. Our Lightbox Gallery below features Titan highlights — complete with special post-processing to give each image a subtle “retro” appearance characteristic of a more nostalgic baseball era of simpler times gone by. Enjoy!!!

For Titans team members, families and fans… check back soon for a C.B. South Titans Baseball 2010 Season photo gallery in the online proofing section of our website, which will contain these and additional game images.

CBE Lacrosse: Patriots Advance to District 1 Quarterfinals

The Patriots edged Downingtown West by a score of 6-5 in Thursday evening’s District 1 LAX match at War Memorial Field in Doylestown, PA. Our Lightbox Gallery below features 28 images that highlight the intensity with which the game was played — and the excitement you’d expect to see as teams progress further into the tournament bracket.

Central Bucks East now advances to one of the quarter-final matches scheduled for Saturday afternoon, when the Patriots will take on Garnet Valley at West Chester Henderson High School. Go E-A-S-T!!!
