CBE Lacrosse: Patriots Are Playoff Bound After Completing Sweeps Against North Penn, C.B. West and C.B. South

The Patriots will be riding the momentum of 3 consecutive victories on their way into the upcoming PIAA District One LAX Tournament that begins Tuesday, May 18. However, C.B. East snagged the #4 seed in the tournament’s field of 28 teams — giving them a bye in Tuesday’s opening round (along with Radnor, Abington, and Conestoga — the #1, #2 and #3 seeds, respectively). So the Patriot’s first “post-season” contest is slated for this Thursday, when they’ll compete against the winner of Tuesday’s match between Downingtown West (#13) and Plymouth-Whitemarsh (#20). [EDIT: Downingtown West won its match with Plymouth-Whitemarsh by a score of 9-4. So Thursday evening's match at War Memorial Field will be C.B. East vs. Downingtown West.]

Of particular note for LAX fans seeking a potential C.B. East vs Hatboro-Horsham re-match… the Hatters garnered the #8 seed in the tournament. And based on the tournament pairings and overall bracket, the Patriots could conceivably compete against the Hatters once again this year in one of the semi-final games on May 25th. Both the Patriots and Hatters split their “regular season” two-game series with one victory each — which would make for yet another high-intensity contest if both teams progress into the semi-final round. Stay tuned!!! [EDIT: For those keeping an eye on the Hatters, Hatboro-Horsham defeated Bishop Shanahan by a score of 9-7 in their game played at Upper Dublin High School's turf field due to Tuesday's persistent rains. So the Hatters progress to Round 2, where they'll compete against #9-seed Pennsbury Thursday evening at Hatter Stadium.]

Meanwhile, we photographed last week’s C.B. East games between C.B. West (May 11th) and C.B. South (May 13th), the latter of which was also the Patriot’s 2010 Senior Night. Our Lightbox Gallery features 19 image highlights from last week’s games.

Enjoy!!!

More game images, along with our coverage of senior night festivities, has already been posted to the C.B. East Mens Lacrosse 2010 Season photo gallery. In addition, Titans fans will find that we’ve also posted game images from last week’s C.B. East vs. C.B. South game to the C.B. South Mens Lacrosse 2010 Season photo gallery.

We send the Patriots all our best wishes for a successful post-season tournament in the coming weeks. Go Patriots!!!

After 100 minutes of soccer — including two 10-minute overtime periods, neither the Lady Patriots nor the Lady Bucks were able to cash in on any scoring drives during Monday evening’s contest at War Memorial Field. Despite the frustrating 0-0 score, we captured a cadre of images for the C.B. East Ladies Soccer 2010 Season photo gallery, and we’re featuring 10 of them here in our Lightbox Gallery below:

We rejoin the Lady Patriots soccer team this season for the first of two contests against their cross-town rivals, the Lady Bucks from Central Bucks West. C.B. East Volleyball: Lady Patriots Edge Out Rival C.B. West in 5 Games

Both teams were in prime form Tuesday evening for the second of this year’s two ladies volleyball match-ups between arch-rivals C.B. East and C.B. West. Whereas the first match-up hosted by C.B. East earlier this season went to the Lady Patriots in just 3 games, Tuesday’s contest at C.B. West High School required all 5 games to determine a winner. In the end, it was the victorious Lady Patriots who were able to breathe a bit easier after Game 5’s exciting 15-11 score.

Our photography coverage for this match captures not only game-time action, but also some of the intense emotion throughout the evening… truly an enjoyable sport to photograph when the match-ups are as competitive as the East/West contest proved to be.
