CBE Lady Patriots Volleyball: Games of High Energy and Intense Emotion

Everyone likes a challenge to keep life interesting — and creative professionals are no different in that respect. So we’re always excited to bring our “creative enthusiasm” to new audiences.  And for Autumn 2009, it’s Ladies Volleyball… where we recently caught up with the  “Lady Patriots” of Central Bucks East this week for two Varsity volleyball competitions:  Council Rock South (away) and Pennridge (home).

Candidly speaking, volleyball action is extremely quick-paced and lightning fast to capture winning images — a true test for a photographer’s reflexes.   So volleyball fans, please let us know what you think of our photo perspective on the game.  Although we have never produced images for ladies volleyball prior to these games, we hopefully brought enough enthusiasm to help capture some very special moments with images that will bring you right back — and right up close –  to the high-energy, on-court action. At least that was the general game-plan!

First, here are some image highlights from Tuesday evening’s Council Rock South game…

We’ll create a new image gallery for the team entitled C. B. East Ladies Volleyball 2009 Season, which will be located in the online proofing section of our website.   We’ll post these and other photos from games throughout this season in that gallery, and images will be categorized by game.  Due to the quick-paced nature of the sport, we very likely won’t post LOTS of images in the gallery.  But those we do post here and in the gallery will be publication-quality images that capture the subtle nuances, high energy,  intense emotion, and extreme concentration required in this terrific sport!  So Lady Patriots volleyball fans, please stay tuned to our blog for more image recaps and gallery images of what’s shaping up to be an exciting season!

CBE Patriots Football: Golden Hawks Repeat 31-7 Scoreboard

There’s something about 31-7 that the Golden Hawks must like, because they’ve been on the winning side of that score for two consecutive weeks taking on Central Bucks football teams — last week’s contest against the Titans, and now this week’s match-up against the Patriots.  Despite the scoreboard, our photos tell a slightly different story… but that’s OK.  There’s a story behind every set of photos, and our images this week tell the story of a young C.B. East football team that’s determined to work through its share of early-season challenges — but even the weather didn’t lend a helping hand this week.  Both teams had to contend with an annoying and persistent rain, but somehow that didn’t keep fans on the sidelines and in the bleachers from cheering on their favorite team and having some Friday evening football fun.

We’ll rejoin the Patriots in two weeks when they visit the Hatters on Friday, September 25 at Hatboro-Horsham High School.  Meanwhile, we’re hoping the field at Council Rock North’s stadium dries out a bit for Saturday afternoon’s scheduled game featuring C.B. South vs. Council Rock North.  It’s not too often we get a chance to photograph a “daytime” Varsity-level high school football game for either Central Bucks team, so we were REALLY hoping for nicer conditions.  But that might be wishful thinking… ’cause the rain just kicked up a notch again as this article hits the blog early Saturday morning.

Patriots Football: Council Rock South Captures 2nd Victory on Central Bucks Turf in 2 Weeks

For two consecutive weeks, the Golden Hawks of Council Rock South have handed two teams from Central Bucks, C.B. South and C.B. East, early-season losses.  This week the Patriots (now 0-2) fell victim to the Golden Hawks (now 2-0) and their strong running game.  Although the Patriots did manage to rally for two crowd-pleasing touchdowns — one the result of a mid-field interception, last night’s game largely belonged to the Golden Hawks.

The following 25 photo previews highlight the evening’s activities, including:

  • terrific performances by both school’s marching bands,
  • the wonderful Patriot’s cheerleading squad (decked out in stunning new uniforms this year), and
  • of course… action images capturing a range of intense emotions throughout the game.

More complete photo coverage to follow shortly in the C.B. East Varsity Football 2008 Season photo gallery listed in our online proofing page.

The Patriot’s “call-to-action” bell stood silently after the game, while the C.B. East coaching staff gave their perspective to players on the team’s 35-14 loss to the Golden Hawks.  The days ahead will give coaches and players a chance to review plays, build upon strategies that worked, and rework those that didn’t.  Our Patriots football coverage will continue again in two weeks when the Patriots host the Hatters of Hatboro-Horsham at War Memorial Field in Doylestown on September 19th.

Titans Football: Council Rock South Edges C.B. South with OT Touchdown

The battle of the “Souths” — Council Rock vs. Central Bucks — ultimately went to Council Rock South last night when a single overtime period yielded a 34-27 comeback victory for the Golden Hawks, just minutes after they tied the score 27-27 late in the 4th quarter.  In the overtime period, both teams were given 4 plays to score from the 10-yard line.  C.R. South scored on their 4th play, while C.B. South came up one yard short of the goal line on their 4th play — sealing the Golden Hawk’s victory.

Be sure to check our online proofing page later this weekend for complete photo coverage of the Titan’s season opener — including football, cheerleading, and the marching band.  Until then, please enjoy a sampling of 20 photo highlights from the evening:
