Wedding Storyline: Congratulations to Jenny & Adam!!!

As everyone knows, wedding dates are typically chosen many, MANY months before “the big day” in hopes that the weather will cooperate.  For Jenny and Adam, Mother Nature came through big-time, providing them with one of the most beautiful days — if not THE very best day — of the summer.  And it was truly a pleasure capturing so many special moments throughout their day.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Central Schwenkfelder Church in Worcester, PA on August 23rd.  And we scouted the location a few days before the wedding to familiarize ourselves with the church’s layout and help ensure optimal photography locations at various times during the ceremony.  The church was magnificent and included a grand balcony loft in the rear from which we could capture some overhead images during the wedding ceremony.

On the big day, our wedding day coverage began with Jenny’s bridal preparations at her parent’s lovely home,  where we captured many candid “getting ready” moments in the natural light of a wonderfully designed sun room.  It’s easy to see how a girl could quickly become accustomed to all this attention!!!

Early in the afternoon, a delivery from the florist brings Jenny’s beautiful bouquet, wrapped with a brilliant turquoise ribbon…

Naturally, we couldn’t resist capturing an early picture of Jenny checking out the flowers shortly after getting her hair styled and wedding veil pinned…

If these next images of Jenny’s wedding dress and shoes conjure up dreamy visions of a beach house set amidst a tropical island paradise… then you’re thinking on the right wavelength, because the catering folks at the William Penn Inn would be transforming the Inn’s lovely Carriage Ballroom into a turquoise blue, tropical island venue just a few hours later.

Meanwhile, my wife Linda was assigned the task of keeping the guys in line over at Jenny’s and Adam’s future home… capturing some great images of Adam and the groomsmen in their tuxes!

Back at the home of Jenny’s parents, it was time to capture the very first images of Jenny in her wedding dress.

A couple of simple — but very lovely — bridal portraits in her room…

Followed by some fun candids of Jenny returning downstairs to the main floor…

Back in the sun room for a beautiful father-daughter portrait…

Then on to the outside patio for another portrait of a splendidly beautiful Jenny with her very proud Dad…

And if you didn’t know otherwise, you’d think Jenny was a professional model working a fashion shoot for any one of the many popular ladies bridal magazines!!!

And how could we not document this candid — but truly precious — moment???

For a 4:30 ceremony, everyone made their way to the church with time to spare.  Linda rejoined Adam, the groomsmen and the ceremony’s presiding celebrant, all of whom were trying to keep some last-minute nerves in check…

And then it was time for the ceremony to begin…  although with young flower girls in the bridal party, one can never be too sure what will happen — including the need for a little persuasion midway down the aisle to keep the procession on schedule!!!

Dad escorting Jenny down the aisle, who was understandably trying to hold back a few tears of joy…

Adam’s first glance at Jenny in her wedding dress:  a timeless look of love, happiness and nervous anticipation while Jenny and her Dad walk down the aisle to the altar…

A short time later, a split-second moment is captured forever…

A few images of the ceremony captured from the grand balcony at the rear of the church…

Then back down on the ground floor of the church…

This is one my most favorite images of Jenny from the entire day — captured just seconds prior to the blessing of the rings and exchanging of vows…

Jenny’s Dad and Mom look on during the ceremony…

And one very happy couple sharing very special moments…

Jenny, looking very relaxed now that everything is official!!!

And a few fun images of the bridal party on the church steps shortly after the ceremony…

I think Jenny and the guys really took this in stride without skipping a beat, but I overheard Adam nervously protesting knowing he was next in front of the camera with Jenny’s bridal attendants doing the honors.  All in all, I think the ladies and gents did a fine job, and everyone made it safely to the reception without incident!!!

Another favorite image of Jenny relaxing on the church steps after the ceremony…

Here’s an image of Adam destined for the pages of GQ Magazine…

We only had a few seconds to capture this shot, and we managed to grab a fun image featuring most of the bridal party in the stretch limo before some serious celebrating on the way to the reception.

And once again… a very happy — and very handsome — couple…

Well OK… we can’t end the storyline quite yet, so here’s a sneak preview of just a few more images from the fun-filled reception, which included a steel band providing wonderful calypso music in keeping with the evening’s tropical island, sea-shore theme.

Once again, we at David Nicholas Photography and Design extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jenny and Adam.  We thank them for entrusting us to capture such an important day in their lives, and we wish them much happiness for years to come!!!

Titans Football: Varsity and JV Teams Win Games vs. CB West

This post combines our photo coverage of both the recent CB South Varsity and JV football games vs. CB West.  Fans needed the umbrellas and rain gear once again for Friday evening’s varsity game at Titan stadium, but the persistent drizzly rain didn’t dampen their enthusiasm as the Titans defeated the Bucks 27-6.  Pre-game festivities acknowledged senior cheerleaders and football players, and those photos will be included in the C.B. South Varsity 2008 Season photo gallery along with action photos and candids from the game.  Check the gallery soon for complete photo coverage of the evening.  Meanwhile, here are a few preview highlights:

Monday afternoon’s JV game at War Memorial Field was played under much nicer weather conditions, giving us a chance to capture some great “daylight” football images during the Titans 38-12 victory over the Bucks.  A few of these images have been specially processed to achieve a rather subtle, retro/nostalgic “look-and-feel” — something we typically only offer our portrait, wedding and commercial clients when they’re photographed under ideal or more controlled lighting conditions.  So JV team members and their families can enjoy a bit of a bonus!!!  Complete photo coverage for several JV football games this season will be posted very soon to the C.B. South JV Football 2008 Season photo gallery.
