It’s been a proven strategy right out of Coach Garcia’s playbook: Expose the Patriots (who’ve been 6-time SOL Continental Conference champions) early in the season to top-notch LAX talent, the likes of which they’ll need to handle when post-season tournaments start in late-May. And this year, that talent came in the form of “pre-season” scrimmages against perennial powerhouse LAX teams from Emmaus and Abington high schools, as well as an early “regular season” match-up this past Monday afternoon with St. Joseph’s High School of Metuchen — currently New Jersey’s #2 team in the LaxPower computer ratings.

Tonight (Wednesday) the Patriots host the Indians from Council Rock North at War Memorial Field at 7PM for the team’s first evening game “under the lights” this season, where we expect they’ll quickly regroup from Monday afternoon’s 17-6 loss to St. Joseph. It’s part of the learning process teams must endure on their way to greatness.
