Yes! There’s Still Time…

To grab that perfect GIFT, of course!!!

It’s undoubtedly been a very busy week for everyone… including our faithful companion, Zuke (who has been known to affectionately greet an unsuspecting client or two when they stop by our office).

[caption id="attachment_1466" align="aligncenter" width="900" caption="Zuke, our faithful companion catches a few Z's in his favorite chair in our office during the Christmas crunch." ]Zuke, our faithful companion catches a few Z's in his favorite chair in our office during the Christmas crunch.[/caption]

But there’s still time to grab a David Nicholas Photography & Design gift certificate for that very special someone in your life! Our gift certificates can be used toward studio sessions, on-location sessions, prints, albums and just about everything you’ll need to experience the very finest in contemporary photography our studio has to offer!

It’s actually a perfect time to treat someone to a studio session this time of year, since weather for outdoor sessions tends to be a bit less predictable during our Bucks County Winters. Or perhaps with everyone home for the Holidays, it’s a great opportunity to have a family portrait session at your house while it’s nicely decorated for Christmas. Or even fit in a “Class of 2012″ High School Senior session that’s light-years beyond the one that the high school yearbook photographer provided last August. It’s never too late to get cutting-edge images for graduation announcements you’ll be proud to send out to family and friends in a few months.

The possibilities are endless!!! And we’re more than happy to bring our creativity to whatever you have in mind. So give us a call today, and we’ll send you on your way with a gift certificate (or two) that’s sure to please those “tough-to-shop-for” folks on your list!!!

We here at David Nicholas Photography & Design want to take this moment to wish everyone a very peaceful Holiday Season and a Happy, Healthy New Year!!! A big heartfelt “Thank You!” goes out to all our clients for helping make 2011 another exciting year for us. We hope everyone has enjoyed our world of image-making, as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing great images to you. As always, stay tuned… and watch this space for more exciting offerings in 2012!

PIAA 2011 Post-Season Football: Titans 2011 Season Ends on a Tough Note at Garnet Valley Despite Dynamic Performances

In the world of precious gemstones, whatever you read about garnets tends to have positive connotations. Such wasn’t exactly the case, however, for C.B. South Football last Friday evening. In fact, the mere mention of “garnets” to anyone in the C.B. South football organization will likely bring back tough memories of an evening that could very well have had a completely different finish were it not for the errant toss of an official’s flag during the game’s final seconds at Garnet Valley High School. Although that’s not how the evening should be remembered, that’s quite possibly how it will be remembered — at least for Titans fans.

Indeed, with less than one minute remaining on the clock, the Titans appeared to have successfully halted a Garnet Valley offensive drive into C.B. South territory. Or so it seemed. But amidst spontaneous Titan celebrations for the turn-over-on-downs, an official’s flag was tossed well after play had ended — charging a face mask penalty against C.B. South. The penalty gave Garnet Valley an extended possession in which the Jaguars eventually scored the game-winning touchdown on a pass play deep into the end-zone with 0:16 on the clock — a repeat of a failed pass-attempt just seconds earlier. An extra-point kick sealed the final score at 52-48 in favor of Garnet Valley. And in a matter of seconds , emotions on the Titans side of the field sank from unbridled enthusiasm to stunning disbelief.

PIAA 2011 Post-Season Football: Titans Extend Their Season with An Opening Round Tournament Win Over Colonials

This year’s PIAA Quad-A Football Tournament is shaping up to be an interesting mix of teams. But don’t ask District One teams to give too much thought to their seeding ranks though… ‘Cause in the tournament’s 8 District One opening round match-ups, SIX of the lower-seeded teams advanced to Round #2! And you can count the Titans of Central Bucks South in that group, as the Titans (#13-seed) claimed a decisive 52-24 victory over the Colonials of Plymouth Whitemarsh (#4-seed) last Friday evening.

Our HD WebShow features LOTS of great Titan highlights from the evening — set to one of our favorite music tracks for action sports images. So turn up the volume, and enjoy exclusive game-action highlights the way they were intended to be viewed… David-Nicholas style!

C.B. South Varsity Football: Titans Keep Playoff Hopes Alive With A 28-14 Victory Over Rams

Both teams knew the stakes of Friday evening’s game: the winner would move one step closer to securing a spot in the District One Class AAAA post-season tournament, and coming up short would all but eliminate the chance of any post-season play. With that incentive in mind, the Titans delivered the right mix of offensive and defensive plays to walk away with a 28-14 victory over Pennridge on a pleasantly cool — and dry! — autumn evening.

This week’s HD WebShow production features 125 game-action images, including pre-game senior recognition festivities for Titan football and cheer organizations. So turn up the volume and re-live the excitement of Friday evening’s Titan win… David-Nicholas style!

As always, these and other great images from Friday evening’s game have been posted exclusively to the C.B. South Varsity Football 2011 Season photo gallery in the online proofing section of our website, where visitors can view individual images at their own pace.

Next week, our “regular-season” football coverage for 2011 comes to a close with a contest between two of our client high schools, when the Patriots of Central Bucks East host the Titans at War Memorial Field. Stay tuned!!!

C.B. East Varsity Football: Game-Ending, End-Zone Interception Secures Bucks 13-7 Win Over Patriots

Friday evening at War Memorial Field had all the makings of an exciting Patriots “come-from-behind” win: namely an arch-rivalry game to set the tone all evening, an extended 4th quarter Patriots scoring drive to maintain the suspense, the deafening roar of cheering fans from both sides of the field, topped off by a potential game-ending, touchdown pass hurled to what looked like an open Patriot in the end-zone during the game’s final seconds.

Sounds like a play crafted right out of a charmed football playbook, but the Bucks had another ending in mind for this Friday evening story. And with the blow of an official’s whistle, the Patriots and their fans were left stunned while Bucks fans cheered on as Bucks defender Jake Poeske (#25) somehow snagged the ball from the hands of Patriots receiver Brandon Sparks (#16) in the end zone — avoiding a pass-interference call and securing the Bucks 13-7 win over their arch-rivals with less than 30 seconds remaining on the clock. Sparks was later whisked away by ambulance due to injuries during the play.

Although winning their first game of the 2011 season remains elusive, the Patriots continue to play with character and focused intensity that any championship team would be proud to call its own. Following their post-game huddle Friday evening, the Patriots and Cheerleaders knelt on the field in support of Sparks who was being treated track-side by medical personnel. And they stayed there until their teammate left the field by ambulance. It was a simple yet tremendously moving gesture of character for an organization that plays hard and works hard together as a team. Life is a team sport — arguably the biggest one of all. And the 2011 Patriots have already learned that lesson in a big way.

This week’s HD WebShow highlights much of the on-field football intensity and off-the-field fan enthusiasm that have become such an inherent part of the traditional “arch-rivalry spirit” at East/West competitions over the years. So sit back and re-live some special moments of the evening, up close and personal… David-Nicholas style!

As always, these and other great images from Friday evening will be posted soon as part of the C.B. East Varsity Football 2011 Season online photo gallery. We’ll next rejoin Patriots Varsity Football for their Senior recognition night on Friday, November 4th, when the Patriots host their newest Central Bucks rivals, the Titans of Central Bucks South High School. Stay tuned!!!
