Competition gets extra tough when any given contest is going to be the season-ending game for one of the teams. And that’s exactly the boat in which 4 District One teams found themselves on Tuesday evening — in this year’s Distict One Mens Lacrosse playback bracket. Winners of Tuesday’s contests (CB East over Abington, and Radnor over Hatboro-Horsham) will face off on Thursday, and battle out one last District One playback match to secure the 5th remaining berth in the upcoming PIAA State Tournament. The winner of Thursday afternoon’s playback match will qualify for the PIAA State Championship Tournament set to begin on Tuesday, May 29. Round #1 has the District One #5 team competing against the District One runner-up.
To no one’s surprise, Tuesday’s C.B. East vs. Abington match was exciting and physical — all the way through to the final horn. Our HD WebShow captures much of the emotional and physical intensity exhibited by both teams Tuesday evening. So turn up the volume, and enjoy a still-image, multi-media recap of all the close-up action, David-Nicholas style!
In the end, the Patriots edged out a 13-11 “come-from-behind” victory over the Ghosts, and will now take on Radnor Thursday afternoon at Harriton High School, while the District One championship match will be held at neighoring Radnor High School. Go E-A-S-T!!!
