C.B. East Girls Soccer: Reflections on Winning Silver

Nobody tells us about life’s ironies beforehand. We need to experience them first-hand. All of them… even the disappointing ones.

Few of us can adequately describe disappointment in words. But we sure know it when we feel it. It’s a raw emotion that hurts. And feel it they did, as the 2015 Lady Patriots ended their magical play-off run with the silver trophy — fighting back tears of disappointment and frustration despite playing brilliant soccer for an entire season.

After all, they did bring a stunningly golden 24-0-1 record into Saturday afternoon’s PIAA Class AAA Championship Final against western Pennsylvania’s Upper St. Clair High School. And the Lady Patriots dominated their final game in terms of possession and shots on goal. Their only downfall was they just didn’t find the back of the net for the grand finale when it counted most.

Call it a cruel sense of irony if you will. But it was very real to the Lady Patriots, a team that had experienced tears of joy and elation just a few days earlier when the team cleared the PIAA Class AAA Semifinal hurdle for the first time in the program’s history. Yet another sense of irony perhaps.

One thing is for certain though… this team’s 2015 journey was as real as it gets. As were the team’s League and District One titles, and yes… a State trophy too — albeit silver. Many a team would be envious to experience such a season.

We trust that all the memories from this 2015 season will remain with the Lady Patriots for years to come. Gold at the state level would have undoubtedly been a more fitting end to such a memorable season. No argument there. But there’s no shame in Silver and the immense rigors that came with it.

Truth be told… the Lady Patriots were an absolute joy to photograph. Hopefully, our images will always kindle strong memories of a very special time for team members and their families and friends. It’s been a privilege to add a special dimension to the Lady Patriots season. Thanks for allowing David-Nicholas Photography & Design to share the journey with you!

C.B. East Girls Soccer: The Destination is Hersheypark Stadium. The Quest is Gold!

Winning Tuesday evening’s PIAA Class AAA Semifinal girls soccer game vs. Cumberland Valley set new heights for C.B. East’s girls soccer program and gave this year’s Lady Patriots the go-ahead to plan a trip to Hershey, PA for the PIAA Class AAA Girls Soccer Final this weekend against cross-state contender Upper St. Clair High School. How appropriate is it this year that Hersheypark Stadium, the traditional site of the PIAA soccer finals, will host two Eastern PA vs. Western PA soccer contests where C.B. East boys and girls soccer teams will be competing in back-to-back time-slots! Should definitely be an exciting afternoon/evening for C.B. East soccer enthusiasts as both teams go for Gold.

Meanwhile… for Lady Patriots families and fans looking to relive many of Tuesday night’s game highlights and all the emotional post-game thrills of the 2-0 semifinal victory, here’s our WebShow recap of the Lady Patirots match-up against Cumberland Valley. Enjoy!!!

C.B. East Girls Soccer: Lady Patriots Advance to PIAA Semifinal with 2-0 Victory over Council Rock North

The Lady Patriots of Central Bucks East are the lone District One team remaining in this year’s PIAA Girls Soccer Championship Tournament (Class AAA). All five District One teams made their way to the quarterfinals, but C.B. South, Spring Ford, Council Rock North, and Downingtown West saw their seasons end with losses in quarterfinal contests on a cool and windy Saturday, November 14th.

State tournaments are supposed to challenge teams moving through the bracket, and this year’s PIAA tournament has been no exception. Saturday’s quarterfinal contest between C.B. East and Rock North was both competitively intense and physically demanding.

Our photo coverage captures the competitive spirit of both teams as they battled through 80 minutes of regulation soccer. At the end of the game, the Lady Patriots walked away with a 2-0 victory… earning them a spot in one of this week’s PIAA semifinal contests.

Our WebShow recaps Saturday afternoon’s quarterfinal with 150 of our favorite close-up images in a fast-paced 5 minutes. Enjoy!!!

These and many other images from the game, including images captured during the pre-game announcement of Lady Patriot starting players can be found in our online image galleries located at

C.B. East Girls Soccer: Golden Goal in O.T. advances Lady Patriots in PIAA State Tournament!

We’ve photographed many “first-round” tournament events in the past. And most of these first-round contests end in a fairly business-as-usual manner with the winning team knowing the real celebration awaits a few rounds later. But last night was different for the Lady Patriots, and the emotional celebration following the team’s victory over Cedar Cliff in this year’s PIAA State Tournament first-round was well-warranted.

After a scoreless tie through 80 minutes of regulation play plagued by misty rain showers during the evening, the Lady Patriots of C.B. East High School defeated the Colts of Cedar Cliff High School 1-0 at 1:16 remaining in the first 15-minute overtime period with a “golden goal” by Hannah Zach.

It took all of 2 seconds for the ball to travel 35 yards from Hannah Zach’s foot to the back of the net — giving the Lady Patriots all they needed to claim victory Tuesday evening. But the resulting flood of emotion that followed immediately after the Golden Goal won’t be forgotten anytime soon. And it’s surely worth reliving through powerful, story-telling still-images which captured the ecstatic moments of “the win”.

We’ve purposely slowed down those moments using 35 still-image frames set to an almost dream-like music for Lady Patriots and their fans to savor a few times over before the team heads to their next contest this weekend. So turn up the volume… and enjoy!!!

Congratulations, Lady Patriots! This one’s for you.

Next up for the Lady Patriots will be a Round 2 contest against District One contender Council Rock North this Saturday, November 14th. Location: Souderton High School. Time: 3PM.

The Lady Patriots of C.B. East High School defeated the Whippets of Downingtown West 2-0 on Saturday afternoon, November 7, 2015 in the District One AAA Final played at Souderton High School to claim this year’s district crown — a first for the program’s history. In doing so, the team extended its overall 2015 season record to 21-0-1, and the Lady Patriots will enter the upcoming PIAA State Tournament this week as the District One “top seed” (one of five District One schools who qualified for the State Tournament’s field of 16 contenders).

To help Lady Patriot families and fans relive some very special moments in the intensely competitive District One AAA Final, we’ve produced a 100-image multi-media WebShow of exclusive, up-close game-action images that gives viewers a field-level, “in the game” perspective along with the players themselves — David-Nicholas style.
